Ableton Mac Os X 10.6.8 Update For Mac Os X 10 6 8
How to Rewire Ableton Live 8 into Reaper 4.32 in OSX 10.6.8
Based on the Reason Rewire process from http://youtu.be/EtkFs3ezFz0
Open Reaper
Create new track and name it 'Ableton Master'
I/O routing of reaper track 'Ableton Master'
Deselect parent/ master send
Set track channels to the number of tracks you want to rewire
(in my case 6)
Select 'FX' on 'Ableton Master' Select 'Rewire: Ableton Live'
Go to 'Audio from Rewire'
Right-click track channels and set to correspond with the tracks you want to send
Rewire output | Track Channel
1:Mix L | Channel 1
2:Mix R | Channel 2
3:Bus 03 | Channel 3
4:Bus 04 | Channel 4
5:Bus 05 | Channel 5
6:Bus 06 | Channel 6
Change record input on 'Ableton Master' to 'Input:Stereo Input 1/ Input 2'
Create new reaper tracks and name them according to the Ableton tracks you are sending (in my case: audio1, audio 2, audio 3)
I/O routing on 'Ableton Master' under 'Sends'
Add sends to all tracks
For each track send, select the 'Stereo Source' input channels
audio1 1/2 =>1/2
audio2 3/4=>1/2
audio3 5/6=>1/2
Right click on the arm button for each new reaper track and select 'record: output (stereo, latency compensated)'
Open Ableton (Running as Rewire Slave), select your project
my project has 3 tracks, audio1, audio2 and audio3
Change the 'Audio To' outputs for each track in Ableton to the following:
audio1 'Rewire Out' 'Mix L/R'
audio2 'Rewire Out' 'Bus 3/4'
audio3 'Rewire Out' 'Bus 5/6'
Played clips/ tracks in ableton record in the separate corresponding tracks in reaper
To record a mix of all ableton tracks in reaper (essentially a bounce from ableton to reaper) change all ableton output channels to Mix L/R (the mix would be recorded in the audio1 track of Reaper)
